Mountain City, Tennessee is the county seat of the most eastern county in Tennessee, nestled in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. Johnson County, Tennessee is a designated Champion Community where hard work is a way of life and the work ethic of its people is as good as it gets. We can provide an ample and talented workforce who are dependable, dedicated, and loyal to their employer. Mountain City is a prestige community that is close to the ski slopes in Boone, North Carolina, the Blue Ridge Parkway and a couple of hours drive from the Carolina beaches. Johnson County, Tennessee is just a day trip to the Great Smoky Mountain, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Cherokee, Tennessee. Johnson County has many springs and streams. The five major streams are Doe, Roan, Laurel Fork, Beaverdam, and Forge. Roan and Beaverdam are the largest of these. Roan Creek is a tributary of the Watauga River and Beaverdam Creek is a tributary of the South Fork of the Holston River. Watauga River is also in Johnson County. Watauga Lake is in the south of Johnson County. It is 1,960 feet above sea level. This makes Watauga Lake the highest lake in the Tennessee Valley Authority System. There are 106 miles of shoreline. Watauga Lake is 19 miles across. Johnson County has some rich farming land. The most fertile land in the county is along the Little Doe and Roan Creeks. Shady Valley also had some rich farming land.
